Would be sick. Entities that need comments and collaboration, but are also full of info are a problem. Put comments at the bottom and you dont see the discussion. put comments at the top and you have to scroll a lot to get to the info. Comments on top but collapsed, you wont know if theres a new comment waiting for you to be seen.
Solution: put comments in the right panel.
(My first idea was to add an “Unread” indication for when its collapsed, but I think this solution is better)
Unless I’m misunderstanding, this is already possible. There is a comment button next to the share button on the top right of the entity view. If you have 2-column entity layout, clicking this button switches your right panel to view all comments. If you have single entity layout, it overlays a collapsible right panel.
Oooh very nice. I missed that it also includes entity comments. A few things to note here that are problematic. 1. Its collapsed by default. When I’m inviting guests, I want everything they need to have access to viewable directly when they get it. No room for instruction. 2. It doesn’t remember the state. Defaults to closed. 3. No unread badge.
What I mean is moving the entity field “comments” to the right hand side. This way it is open by default and will stay open every time i come back (unless i collapse it manually).
If i recall there were plans of allowing you to put relation views (not compact) into side panel as well, so I think this is one step in that direction.
Let me know if I’m missing something though!
