Missing rich text history for a deleted field

I’m not sure if this is desired behavior but I’m posting in case this was a bug and it can be reversed somehow.
I found out an important database had been deleted on accident by a team member because all the entities had empty values in the Notes field. The original notes field was deleted on accident, then the team member created a new field named Notes to fix the problem.
When I discovered the error, I attempted to restore the original field and saw the error because a new field with the same name had been created. I renamed the new field, and then restored the old field. BUT now there is no data and no change history for the original Notes rich text field.

Is all versioning/change history deleted when a rich text field is deleted?

Content should be restored as well. Are you sure you’re restored the field in question or yet another one created afterwards?

Restored field will be empty of course for entities created / modified after it was deleted.

Please double check it and contact us through support if you’re sure that there is any data loss.
