:vulcan_salute: Share entity with everyone or a Group

Previously, you had to grant users access one by one. Now, save time and drastically simplify maintenance by sharing entities with Groups or even everyone in the workspace.

If you haven’t set up User Groups before, follow our guide. Note: you’ll need a Pro or Enterprise plan for that.

You can now share Spaces and Entities with Groups; Databases are coming next.

:beers: Show duplicates for entity

Fibery proactively looks for duplicates now and shows a banner on entity view when potential duplicated entities are found. You can open potential duplicates list, compare entities and merge them right away.

It works for all databases added into Semantic Search (AI Search) and all Target databases for Highlights. So if you want to try duplicates finder, make sure that the database added to AI Search.

:star: Favorites → My Items

My Items is a special section in the sidebar where you can add and access all important things: Spaces, Smart Folders, Folders and Views you added to My Items by yourself. Private Space is moved to My Items as well.

On top of the sidebar there is a filter that you can use to quickly switch between My Items and All Items. Note that in My Items mode left sidebar is more focused and less cluttered.

You can also collapse all menu items with a single click.

NOTES:

  • My Items is an evolution of Favorites
  • We need your feedback to improve this feature
  • My Items is enabled by default now. You can still disable it in Settings → Experimental Lab (so far)

Batch edit on Table View

Batch edit panel added to Table View. Now you can select many entities and change fields faster.

Sync several emails accounts to the same database :e-mail: :e-mail::package:

Now an admin can setup several emails accounts synced into the same Email database. Find Add Account button in Emails integration and add as many email accounts as you wish.

Note that you can also allow other users to setup their own email accounts and sync them to the same database.

:shrimp: Fixed Bugs

  • Relation selector get closed when press on “Show other” button in to-one relation selectors selected as unit
  • it’s possible to add new view for account who have ‘Multiple views’ switched on
  • It’s possible to link Guest to a group in some case
  • It’s impossible to collapse relation field in Entity View if it’s displayed as Compact selector in the main section
  • It’s impossible to collapse rich-text field in Entity View if it’s displayed as Snippet

Share entity with everyone or a Group

This is a huge improvement for Access management.

I’ll test it out and come back with feedback.

I tested it out. Seems to work perfectly. Having to manage 3 groups instead of 27 people is a huge time saver and reduces considerably the room for human error

Favorites → My Items

I’ll have to see how this feels in practice but on first impression this looks more professional. Kudos to the UX/UI team.

I will never get over how impactful the WEEKLY releases to Fibery are compared to the glacial (and far less impactful) releases from our previous tool… cough cough Clickup cough

Finally! VERY happy to have groups now, makes life much easier. Have an additional request based on that:

Regarding the “my items” - really don’t like that naming. Favorites was the perfect word, lets please keep it like that. Also the fact that you see “my items” two times now is confusing

So I’m disabling that experimental feature for now.

It’s worth a tweet

That’s a neat structure that you have! Nested Groups make sense, even for Department → Teams. We’ll be looking for similar cases: if there are enough of them, we’ll add the support. Although so far, it’s not something that we’ve seen often.

Oh yes that’s true, you helped us with that structure! I would promote this somewhere, if I were you. It’s been very useful.

Thank you for making the [All Items]<>[My Items] a toggle switch instead of a drop down! I didn’t say anything last week, but seeing the drop down made me very afraid. 90% of my users would never use the drop down or would get confused and forget which sidebar they are on.

This is so much cleaner.

Can I check something.
In your video, the roles are nested, which makes sense from a ‘who reports to whom?’ hierarchy point of view.
But if you grant access to a specific role, are you merely asking that the dropdown for choosing a group be simplified so that a user can find a role by exploring the tree, or are you thinking that the access granted would propagate in some way?

If the latter, how did you think it would work?

All I can say is wow! :confetti_ball:

This is a dang good update! I’m already loving the switch toggle between My Items and All Items.
And AI driven deduplication?? We’ve come such a long way from me hiring @Matt_Blais to script deduplication for a data lake. :sob:

Please note that deduplication only works via Name and Rich Text fields, so it has limited use cases like Bugs, Tasks, Features, etc. For example, it will likely fail for Contacts in CRM. We will work on improvements in future

I do like the toggle switch or tab, but think there should be three to four options:

  1. Favourites
  2. My items
  3. All spaces
  4. Hidden spaces

Very neat update! Thanks!

How these things should be different on your opinion?

  • Favourites would be all the items that I have starred
  • My items would be items that are in my private/personal space

I think the alternative would be to keep the Favourites separate, and then have a switcher for:

  • Personal Space
  • Shared Spaces
  • Hidden Spaces

Love the entity sharing!! Amazing update as always. Love Thursdays. I’ll play around with the email syncing soon.

Just one thing with batch actions on table view: I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find it faster and more intuitive to select multiple, then right click to make batch changes. This behaviour is in the other views, but in table view right clicking when there are multiple selected still brings up single edit.

Plus: I’d love to be able to highlight multiple cells in the same column and then any change I make to one gets reflected in the others. In general, when multiple are selected, I think it makes sense (at least for some fields) to edit all of the selected entities in the same way. I believe Monday.com has a good implimentation of this.

Not propagating, or at least that sounds a bit more complicated and not (yet) needed for us. So simply selecting the group we want. But important to note here that I prefer it look like a nested list, not a single dropdown ideally.

Agreed.

It seems like things are duplicated anyway in the bottom menu. Just add the “edit fields” to the right click menu and you can get rid of the bottom menu.

@antoniokov we use a similar structure to @Nevil_Hulspas. We’re a smaller team, so we don’t have so much nesting. But we do have several roles (with potentially several roles to one person) related to Department entities. Having lots of Roles, the sharing dropdown is similarly lengthy for us, though I find this to be a minor annoyance since I can search within that dropdown by typing.

We have the Roles related to Department entities, so permissions set to a Department will propagate to its Roles.

I meant to start my previous comment with the following. I don’t know how it got cut out…

Amazing! I was just thinking about this a couple days ago! It’s like ya’ll are reading my mind

Beautiful. This was a minor annoyance for me.
