Improvements to calendar view: Point in time like milestones on timeline, ability to spread out vertically, fix stacking

I’d appreciate more love for the calendar view.

  1. Don’t know if it’s an existing feature, something on your radar (or if not it’d be nice to have), but support entities which have a time but not a duration (e.g. due by 3 PM) which could be represented by a horizontal line on the calendar day/week views. Example mockup provided.

This could fix the clutter by having an on-hover event to display the entity creating the line, so anything scheduled around it doesn’t get stacked on top.
  2. Other calendar apps allow ctrl/shift+scroll or +/- buttons to change the spread of the times while in the week/day view for better clarity. The window itself can stay the same size, but a v-scrollbar would fix the usability. Is this on the cards?
  3. I’m currently getting a lot of stacking clutter when multiple things are occurring simultaneously.

Is there any way of improving this? e.g. on-hover changing the draw order

These are really good ideas to improve Calendar – I’m really bummed to see custom apps getting so much love (perhaps, deservedly!) meanwhile Calendar view has frankly kinda stunk for years now.

Even just being able to hide weekends would be glorious… The limitations around calendar view right now make it nearly unusable, I hate to say…

So yes, I think these are great ideas, but I wouldn’t hold my breath, unfortunately. If you make this an “Idea and Feature”, then I’d throw it a vote!
