Sometimes inline comments get resolved when the conversation isn’t actually settled, or a related change has not been made yet. Clicking on the notification takes you to where the comment was, but does not open the resolved comment. For an entity with many resolved comments, going through the “resolved comments” sidebar can take a good amount of time.
I have a couple of ideas that could help.
- When clicking the notification, keep the current behavior, but also jump to the resolved comment in the “resolved comments” sidebar.
- Sort the resolved comments by how recently they were closed (i.e. in the same order of the notifications, so the top resolved comment in the sidebar is the comment resolved most recently). Or maybe allow for the user to set custom filter/sort conditions.
