We have moved the long-awaited Quick filter feature to the “Ready to Dev” phase. We aim to strike a fine balance between super flexibility and ease of use.
And I appreciate how minimal the UI ends up being, as it’s really just the addition of the “pin” icon that does so much heavy lifting here. Very excited to see this coming together!
My only addition might be perhaps some way to “remove all filters” or something to get back down to the “default” view. It seems like that can be accomplished by just clicking on the filter that’s currently active, but that might not be obvious to all.
The concept is that the creator decides which Global Filters can pinned as Quick Filters, and users can turn them ON/OFF for flexible use.
Reset all button is available next to the last Quick Filter when the user changes the default settings of the pinned Global Filter or any pinned Personal Filter is ON
I think Grex’s suggestion of “remove all filters” is more intuitive as some users may not know what the default view or settings are. But otherwise the UI for Quick Filters is very nice.
The pinned Global Filters created by the view creator are part of the default view UI. This is what view creators designed. Removing them results in a different view from the default.
By “remove”, I don’t mean that the pinned filters are deleted. I mean that the pinned filters are switched off. This actually highlights my point. There could be confusion regarding whether the default is with the filters on or off.
It looks good! Regarding filters, I would like to know if you can add the “copy filter” like airtable does.
This is super useful for people who work with multiple teams or who want to represent the same information with different views. You create the filter once and then copy it where it is needed. Same for colors, you create your logic once and then simply copy when it’s needed.
This is not within the scope. First, we would like to ensure that everything is set up correctly in one view, and then we can work on the functionalities between views.
I guess your day-to-day use of the tool is very different from mine. For my use case, having an easy way to “share” filters between views is much more critical than having quick filters.
Does ‘sharing a filter between views’ mean being able to define a filter that can be used on a table of Tasks or on a table of Projects or on a table of Features…
or does it mean being able to define a filter that can be used on a table of Tasks or a board of Tasks or a list of Tasks?
