This feature has been discussed on the official Linear integration announcement page. Syncing comments and links from Linear issues to Fibery, as well as enabling realtime updates would be highly beneficial.
Use case: We want to sync Linear issues from our customer support platform, which has native Linear integration. These issues relate to product specs and inventory (servers), while our customer data lives in Fibery. Linear lacks this contextual information, serving only for issue documentation and workflow management.
Fibery enables external actions on issue-related components, but without synced comments, links and speedy updates, we lose significant context and face constant app switching.
Current problems:
-
Must switch to Linear to access vital information in comments or links (like conversation IDs)
-
Cannot see when team members add comments or relevant links in Linear
-
Cannot leverage Fiberyβs search or AI capabilities on synced issues
-
Must leave Fibery to comment in Linear, losing workflow continuity
Proposed solutions:
Comments:
A. Bi-directional comment sync between Linear and Fibery for seamless collaboration
B. One-way rich text field (like Intercom integration) that syncs new Linear comments to Fibery. (To post comments, users could use an Fibery Automation + Input to post to Linear via API. Not elegant but doable).
Links:
Rich text field that syncs and updates new Linear links to Fibery would suffice
Realtime
Use webhooks (like Intercom integration) to create and update Linear issues that live in Fibery immediately.
Potential workaround:
We could build a custom webhook system that triggers when Linear comments are added, pushes updates to our backend, finds matching synced issues in Fibery, and updates the comments field. Reverse sync from Fibery might also be possible via webhooks.
However, this requires significant development time from us and other users.
