It’s very useful to be able to insert “Cards” into a Whiteboard which can be clicked to open them. Thus we can build a visual map containing links to various Fibery entities and views.
But while the text within other Whiteboard elements has some rudimentary formatting capabilities, we cannot create hyperlinks
It would be very useful if we could add hyperlinks to any text in Whiteboard elements – Shapes, Sticky Notes, etc. Then we could extend this useful ability to also include links to non-Fibery web pages.
Hey @Matt_Blais , I agree that it would be great to add hyperlinks to the whiteboard, but you can already add cards to entities and views (not DBs annoyingly, it seems to bug out if you try) and a double click opens up the entity or view.
I love that I can insert entities into whiteboards.
But I also often need/want to make other objects like shapes be hyperlinks to views in fibery, or to resources in other places.
It would nice if I could just add a hyperlink to non-entity objects in whiteboards.
I needed this today. I find Whiteboard promising to get an overview and organize freely in 2D space. But not all references and content live in Fibery.
I needed to link several cards to a Sharepoint File, but noticed simple hyperlinks are not supported today. In my case I don’t need to link a card or entity or note directly, a simple text field that generates a clickable URL would also work fine.
Creating a card that in turn contained this reference felt like overkill; I wouldn’t use the references outside the context of the Whiteboard.
Miro
I think Miro had an okay variant, where it was easy to connect shapes and entities issues to a shared hyperlinked resource.
