I’ve hit this UX issue a couple of times with whiteboards and am hoping it’s an easy fix. When you create a section on a whiteboard and then drop a few sticky notes on it, if you start to write on the sticky note and then want to move it, you can’t move it while in edit mode.
So, the instinct is to click outside of the sticky note. When you click outside, you are actually clicking on the section, which ends up selecting it. If you try to drag your sticky note, it will drag the entire section.
After testing it a bit more, I did realize there is a small area below the card where you can drag, but I tend to always grab it from the top.
So, I think two things could be helpful here:
• Increase the area where I can drag a sticky note while editing.
• Make it so clicking outside of the sticky note doesn’t trigger selection of the section, but instead just triggers exiting the editor.
