UX: Calculations - totals - is this correct?

I’m confused by the calculations shown on the bottom of this grid. Is this the way it should be working?

I think the sums are based on the values of all entities in the view by filter, not by what is collapsed in the UI. I would guess that there are probably some other entities nested in your top level DB that total up to the sums that are shown.

Hey Tommy, Thanks. I understand that. My question is whether that’s how this is supposed to work? Cause it looks misleading.

Ah, fair point. I suppose it could be nice if it re-calculated based on what is visible.

I’ve been told yes it is – the sum is supposed to be the entire view. If I need totals of specific groups I have to switch to Reports.

Alternatively, you can add the required formula(s) on the database that is used for grouping, so that they too have a calculation, rather than empty cells

Good point – that works as long as the filters of the view are not expected to change. I’ve had people confused because they adjust the personal filters and then the formulas are wrong.
