Two things I noticed about grouping in Fibery (Coming from Airtable)
The UI for grouping has room for improvement I believe. The gray bar looks a bit dull, it would be really nice if the Color of the select field I am grouping by would be visible in the Group Header aswell. It’s also a bit inconsistent that the gray bar of the group head does not go all the way horizontally: The very right and left are white. Small detail but it makes it visually less clean
It seems like I cannot get Summaries (SUM, AVG etc) for each group for Number fields. This one came at a surprise, I use it in Airtable a lot and its really helpful to get a good overview over bigger data sets
It would be great to have 2 or more levels of grouping. Again, super handy to read data from bigger datasets quickly in a single view
Would be awesome to see these improved
ps: The Color thing goes for Kanban Boards too: It would be really nice to see the Color of the select field in the Header of the Stack.
Grouping messed me up a bit coming from Notion too, still getting used to groups on tables/lists being collapsed by default. Do like being able to show fields on the group though
I also wish I could receive summaries at each group level, as I have numerous use cases for this feature. It’s frustrating not having it available.
For example, in the task view grouped by assignee, I would like to see a sum of the estimated time for each assignee to assess their capacity.
Currently, all we get is the grand total at the bottom, which is limiting. I’ve had to create separate views for each assignee just to see their individual totals.
