When doing financial projections, generally people have a two axis table. Months on the x axis, and revenue source on the y.
This like would be ideal: I sincerely appeal for a list view, performing horizontal and vertical grouping like board view, I also think it might make things quite complex, since table view can have many levels. Another possible solution would be to have a “Ultra Compact” card size on board view, where it moves the labels to be on the left of the cards, instead on in between, and reduces the spacing everywhere. The main use case is generally for a single field. If you have multiple, it gets too confusing, but I don’t think you need to enforce that.
Only down side is the lack of bulk copy pasting, which the table view has. Maybe it should look like a table view, but only have vertical and horizontal grouping on one level…? No idea.
The pivot tables in report views work, but are not editable, making “playing around with the numbers” impossible.
