Support video uploads on Whiteboards

It would be great to have the ability to upload and play video files directly on the Whiteboard, similar to how we currently handle images.

Currently, the lack of video support on Whiteboards is the main blocker preventing from fully moving our workflow from Figma to Fibery for planning tasks.

We use Whiteboards as our primary planning tool where we:

  • Upload and analyze competitor videos and screen recordings.

  • Map out UI/UX flows that include animations.

  • Build task plans and roadmaps alongside visual references.

Adding the ability to upload and play video files (MP4/MOV) directly on the canvas would allow us to keep all context in one place and eliminate the need for external tools.

Not embedding.

Yes! That would be nice!

As a workaround, I create a Page > Embed a video > Embed Page in the Whiteboard.

Im using to create marketing funnels that have videos in some steps of the funnel.

Thanks for the feedback! I think we’ll be making some updates to the files on the whiteboard soon, including for video :slightly_smiling_face:

It will be great! :star_struck:

Hi!

Just wanted to add one more important note regarding video support on Whiteboards.

It would be ultra great  if users with view-only permissions (Observers) could also play videos directly on the board . [ For teams using whiteboards to plan and review visual materials (and tasks in it heavily), this becomes one of the few critical limitations that significantly disrupt the workflow  ]

We ran into a situation where users with Observer access can see the embed, but they cannot click “Allow” inside the embed frame to enable the external content. As a result, they technically see the site in the container, but they cannot actually see the site  .

The only workaround currently is to open the board in the full external webpage, which breaks the workflow.

It would be great if the final implementation ensures that view-only users can still interact with video playback, so that videos behave more like normal media (similar to images) rather than requiring additional permissions or external navigation.

Just mentioning this so that it doesn’t end up in a situation where users can see the video but cannot actually play/see it :slightly_smiling_face:
