Whiteboards video: Finding the right tool for the job

Whiteboarding has become a crowded playground, so I took a closer look.
The result is a 7-minute video that compares features, collaboration quirks, and a few headaches.

Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw9Ldk59DlI

This is my first video in the role of educator, so let me know what you think:
Nailed it | Pretty good | Meh | Painful | I’d rather watch AI slop

Your turn:

  • Which whiteboard is your daily go to and why?

  • Any hidden gems or features we should steal learn from?

  • Got a funny or painful whiteboard story?

  • What’s the one thing every whiteboard tool still gets wrong?

I’m looking for honest and helpful feedback. Whether it’s praise, nit-picking, or a full rant - let’s hear it!

Good stuff!! Looking forward to the rest of the videos.

I think it’s a nice explanation on the different types of whiteboards and the value they provide.

Will share my honest thoughts as you asked

I still don’t understand the difference between Clickup whiteboards and Fibery whiteboards from this video.

You mention that in Clickup it starts in the whiteboard, then becomes tasks, and in Fibery whiteboards are more to visualise. Technically it’s also possible to do this in Fibery - convert whiteboard text to entities, so why is Clickup better at this?

I think there are two things that were not touched upon that are important in Fibery whiteboards:

  1. Content in whiteboards are not searchable across the workspace. It’s a black box.
  2. Whiteboards can be attached to entities as a field. (Not a big fan of this personally, but could be interesting to mention)

I have strong whiteboard opinions here: Split whiteboard view to a "Canvas" field, and a "Network" view :))

Looking forward to seeing more!

Hi Ron,

Thanks for that valuable and honest feedback, much appreciated!

In the interest of honesty - I think your points are on point ()and indeed the differentiation I made between Clickup and Fibery in whiteboards could be more in depth and better supported.

The video was my initial project with Fibery so I definitely made some mistakes and a pretty shallow pass at the differences. I wish I could tell you that I now know what makes Clickup better or Fibery better at whiteboarding - but I don’t… They can both be used in both “directions” as you mentioned. As I grow in my role and the whiteboarding feature improves, I’m sure there will be a relevant update to be made to this video.

Your two additions about searchable content and entity attachment are really helpful for me going forward, I’ve noted them down for future use. (As well as your whiteboard opinions  )

Thanks for the positive feedback as well - motivation :chart_increasing:
