Relation to "one of these databases"

In my CRM i use a relationship field “referred by” and point this to an entry in the contacts database itself. this works great

but sometimes people are not referred by a single person but more a company or an event.

would it be possible to use a relationship field that points to any of these databases (contact, company, event)

a polymorphic relationship … ?

Polymorphic relations. When creating relation, ability to have many Types from which to choose, and not just one Type

It appeared we need Polymorphic relations for References 2.0 features. So there is a chance that we will add them this year. However, with some limitations (like up to 5 databases on every end).

I though they said that it will never happen because it’s structurally impossible
