The new pricing is already available at Pricing — Fibery and applies to new customers from November 1. The existing paying customers will have the option to renew their subscription on old terms till the end of February 2025.
Now you can collaborate with clients and freelancers by sharing specific entities with them at no extra cost. Type the email address of someone who’s not a member of your workspace yet—and they’ll receive a guest invite:
To recap, here are all the user roles and their typical purposes:
Admins are the savvy folks setting up the workspace and managing users.
Members are the ones doing the actual work.
Observers (we used to call them Guests, sorry for the confusion) are your colleagues who don’t use Fibery as their primary work platform (yet ) but need to stay in the loop.
Guests are people outside your organization (e.g. clients and contractors) you invite to collaborate on specific projects.
Create any entity from sidebar
Now you can quickly create new entities from the left sidebar. Click Create new entity icon in the top of the left sidebar, or just press C and invoke a quick add dialog. Here you can create entities for any database:
Admin or Creator can also customize visible fields. Select the Fields option and tailor this form for all users.
Completely collapse sidebar
The left sidebar now collapses fully and does not occupy any space. It makes the Fibery interface less cluttered.
Use Cmd + \ shortcut to quickly expand and collapse the left sidebar.
Improvements
When you convert an entity to another database, the source entity is deleted automatically.
Search is slightly optimized: now AI search will be invoked for 3 words and more, before that it was for 2+ words.
People Field notification setting is now included in Space templates
Fixed Bugs
Sorting for spaces in databases list should be case insensitive
Wrong Action list positioning for Rule/Button
Calendar is partly hidden in Merge into pop-up
Move to space is missed for My space views
Space name input should be shown on Space creation
“Expected “subPage” to be a string” error on renaming Space
When a link is pasted in rich text, no popup appears to suggest converting into mention
Table of Content does not work when mention is used in headers
I reached out via chat to sign up for Enterprise! Also, I think it would be interesting if Fibery offered Enterprise add-ons related to resources. e.g. Dedicated resources (unshared). Just throwing that out there!
I ran into two issues, linking them here in order of pain level for me:
Also the new setup with Guests and Observers seems really smart. If it had existed when we looked at systems like Fibery some half and a year ago it would made a big difference for our use cases.
I would proactively email your customers about that one in a more “alert” way so they don’t just see a new acccouncement. Maybe Fibery: Important or similar that gets their attention.
You could even motify them in-app (though that in and of itself is a leap on many levels).
Great feature but could also cause consternation for some who expect to see the duplicate, don’t know how easy it is to undo things, and get hyper-irritated - because they didn’t see this post.
I really like this! But there’s a small bug I found in the windows desktop app. When you have the sidebar collapsed and go to settings, you can’t open it by hovering on the left edge. Even if you hover over the sidebar icon it doesn’t work. It opens briefly, but when you move your cursor it hides again. So you have to manually open it and then re-collapse it when you leave settings.
I tried in my browser and if you have the sidebar collapsed and go to settings, the sidebar becomes non-collapsed, which works fine because it goes back to collapsed when you leave settings.
This release is awesome, but it also turned our world upside down as a Fibery partner.
Previously, we had a lot of automations in Fibery. Then we moved the automations to NodeRed because Fibery was not meant to process raw data.
Because we can’t trigger a webhook via an automation, we trigger the webhook via script.
And because scripts are now only part of Pro plan, our users are forced to a higher plan than needed. All because we’ve made the effort to keep Fibery light and limited the automations in Fibery
The clients on our waiting list need to pay 2x more than last Wednesday because scripts are moved to pro.
And because our planning solution is fully automated, some small business owners will have more than 10.000 automations.
I’m not willing to sell an enterprise subscription to a small business owner
It’s worth noting that many of our automations were developed to compensate for missing Fibery functionalities, rather than purely for user convenience. The current automation architecture often requires multiple chains (3+ automations) to achieve desired outcomes due to limited logic capabilities within individual automation steps.
I can understand that automations are limited. So we are investigating how we can simplify the workspace.
But I really hope that automations get more love so that we can also prevent the automations. For Fibery and for our clients.
And I really hope that simple scripts like trigger webhook and copying a file will also be possible in the standard subscription.
Edit
Also worth noting: previously I haven’t used AI that much since you needed a separate subscription for that. I think this is a brilliant move and you guys are really generous with the AI limits; those are insane Plus the new guest feature is also really awesome!
