Implementing Docs into whiteboards works surprisingly well! It bridges one major problem I always have with whiteboards: They are great for conceptualizing - but data is STUCK in the whiteboard elements.
This way, the data lives within the documents and can be edited on both ends! Good work!
But now the last step to awesomeness: I would love to do the same with entity-fields like ādescriptionā. Editing the RTE from an entity within the whiteboard and displaying the text from the RTE in WYSIWYG will be a gamechanger!
The technology and integration is obviously there - let uns use it
Best wishes
Chris
Iāll throw this in, where ever possible: I would love to see editable quick filters (I know you are working on it) and a SUM-display for parent-elements in the table-view (like in your reports). That would be an enormous help.
Amazing to see Whiteboard getting so much love! Embeds are huge.
This is a great feature that Notion has had for a while, glad to see it added here. I hope it will be extended to Rich Text next! āMentionā has been sorely missed for me.
Gives me an error, maybe Iām not yet added to the tester group? I presume it has to be one of my Google account emails. My first name @ gmail.
Hah, well Iāll admit I was going off the text in the announcement and hadnāt yet tried it:
Having now tried it Iām not sure whatās going on or what this announcement (above) means. I did not seem able to find any āMentionā option for external resources. Obviously we can āmentionā Entities, but when pasting a URL or adding an Embed in Whiteboard I only got options for full Embed (widget) or Text Link, no āMentionā. This here in Notion is what I thought you were adding (and Iād love if you add a āBookmarkā mode at some point too):
Mention currently only applies to Fibery items, we donāt have these representations for external links yet, neither in the rich field nor in the whiteboard.
Ah, I see. I think it was the word āexternalā in this quote that confused me. I guess it means external to the whiteboard, but not to Fibery? Itās a small thing and probably not relevant anymore, but Iād encourage a different word for any similar announcement or documentation in the future around embeds, links, etc. āExternalā to me has a strongly non-Fibery connotation given how interconnected Fibery is.
Hope youāll add Widget mode for external-external (non-Fibery) links at some point! Itās a small but nice thing that contributes to a feeling of polish in docs/rich text.
