New to Fibery - Sidebar concerns?

Hi all

Brand new user to Fibery - we use Airtable and Google Docs and there is a lot of opening and closing different documents, so we are now looking to consolidate it all and switch between areas (product, users, sprints etc..) really quickly. Basically to have all company information at our fingertips.

But - I think I have hit a wall already, with the Sidebar - which from doing some reading I understand is new.

My problem is as follows - it is really really really cluttered.

This is what my sidebar looks like - and I only have 4 different tables (entities/databases?) so far. I count 33 different options in the side bar - for only 4 different tables
 Is that correct?

Is there any way to hide the “Fields”, “Relations”, “Rules” options etc? Surely they could be presented as tabs (like Chrome) from within the main database window instead of taking up so much space on the organised sidebar.

I know they can be “collapsed” - but they automatically open any time I click on a database. It makes for a LOT of movement in the sidebar.

I like the “Access” feature but realistically you will only set it once or twice, so surely it doesn’t deserve a constant space on the sidebar - which is precious in terms of speedy navigation.

I also don’t think that the “New Database” or “New item” options are needed to be shown in the sidebar - it’s obvious that they will be hidden under the + sign as they are.

Everything else looks good so far but I don’t think I can get past such a cluttered navigation.

Happy for your thoughts!

Thanks!

See that little circular stack icon with the X through it? Click that. You’re currently in database editing mode which shows all the settings.

Just to add to what @interr0bangr wrote, the ‘hide dbs’ option is available at the top level (which will hide the User db) but is also present at each space level (in your case there seems to be two spaces, called Subscriptions and Project Tracking).

Thanks all - what I figured out in the end was that when you click the little database icon - it hides the database info but you then cant access any actual data.

That was until I found the “Views” option where you can present the data separately which has now solved the clutter issue.

Looking forward to exploring the software more!
