I am wondering if it would be possible to add the ability to use one of the fields for an entity to group rows and to setup a total row for each group: [table_group_totals] This would be similar to the total row in Excel tables where you can calculate some values like sum, count, average, etc. The board view already has the “row” option which allows cards to be grouped together: [board_row_groups] The total row would be great to have regardless of grouping and it would be fantastic if the calculations could be updated based on filtered rows (i.e. if you were counting the rows, the count would get updated when rows were filtered out).

This innovative tool seamlessly combines GPT-4’s extensive general knowledge with your unique Fibery workspace data, empowering you to effortlessly interact with your databases and documents. Uh, AI wrote it, so let’s switch back to human language. With Workspace Q&A you can: Explore Databases Content and Structure: For example, ask “Show features in progress” or “Show me new tasks assigne…

Thanks for explaining Chris. Yes most functionalities are currently possible as you describe. But the stylistic differences (UI) do make a difference. For instance, I now have one master view where I see all things I need to do on a given moment: [image] The problem is my todo’s are much longer, about 100 items (not visible in this screenshot), while content and checklists are much less items. In Notion you have “load limit” which limits it to 10 items for instance: [image] This way I still have my 10 most important todo’s visible if I sorted by priorty, while not having to scroll through all 100 of them first before I reach checklists and content items. Another thing, in the screenshot of topic starter it is also possible to make calculations per grouping. I know calculations are not possible at all in Fibery, but that would also be a very nice to have feature. The grouping by field value would be super valuable by the way, hope this is written as a feature request internally!

still waiting for this! (patiently) 30 users on clickup here. row grouping (at least 2 levels) is so critical for us. along with swim lanes on a kanban board. i loved the AGGrid prototype. my personal prediction is that row grouping shows a noticeable increase in users, and lower churn. cheering for you guys.

Could we get an update on the status of this request? 28 votes is pretty substantial in the grand scheme of things  I’m really struggling to see my data the way I want when using List or Table views because Fibery is missing the “group by field” feature that all it’s primary competitors (in the project/product management world at least) have. ClickUp does it Airtable does it Notion does it Oh and Fibery already does it (but only in Board views) Our use case: We categorize our work as either a “Project” or a “Program”. In terms of executing on this work, both are managed in almost the exact same way which makes me want to use a single “Production Work” database in Fibery with a field called “Engagement Type” that would help separate them for reporting, automations, invoicing, etc. But because the “single select” field I want to use is not a relationship field, I can’t use it to visually separate things in Lists or Tables so everything is essentially one big mess. Here’s the 3 things I’ve tried, but they all fall short in some way or another. Attempt 1: Using the board view with Card Size = List & Rows = Engagement Type. Pros: Looks just like List view and allows me to group things under two distinct rows! Cons: Board view does not display sub-levels of relationships, which is an essential requirement for us. [board1] Attempt 2: Using 2 different list views with one filtered to show Projects and one filtered to show Programs. Pros: I can visually group the 2 types of work and also display multiple levels of related entities underneath. Cons: I cannot look at active Projects and Programs at the same time, which is an essential requirement. Also, because there’s no visual indication there are other saved views (tabs instead of a dropdown would be nice), my team doesn’t even know the other views exist. [list1] [list2] Attempt 3: Using a separate database for both Projects and Programs. Pros: Gives me exactly what I want…a visually seperated/group of both types of work! Cons: I now need to manage 2 databases for essentially the same thing, both with 10+ automations, 25+ custom formulas, and who knows what else in the future as things evolve. [2datab] This request is now 4 years old, has a pretty decent amount of votes and has been marked as Planned as some point, so hopefully we can expect some movement soon?

Second this, grouping in my org the grouping Monday has made them the winner

We do have plans to implement it in Q1 2024. Overall we are working on Table View and will not stop till these things will get done

Until this functionality is available, you can use table view with a primary sort by engagement type, and add the engagement type as a column. You could even add colour-coding to make the distinction even more obvious.

Thanks @mdubakov & @Chr1sG I know this feature request is for Table View, but could I ask that it be prioritized across List view as well? We use lists 95% of the time (as you can tell from my above screenshots) I just didn’t want to create another feature request if I didn’t have to. :stuck_out_tongue:

Grouping is a much needed feature for us as well! [image] interr0bangr: Also, because there’s no visual indication there are other saved views (tabs instead of a dropdown would be nice), my team doesn’t even know the other views exist. We use context views all the time and have the same problem. Small ‘hack’: When there is only 1 view, we don’t number it. When there are more views, we number them. Like: Projects Programs So the user knows there is more  Tabs would be more user friendly but this works.

Latest clickup update makes it even easier to group things by field/column in both list and table views. [clickup_update] Grouping can’t come soon enough to Fibery! I see it’s listed as [Planned] here but don’t see it in a column in the public roadmap. Is there a super secret internal roadmap that has this feature on it? :stuck_out_tongue:

We are working on conceptual design and it is not very simple problem, since in Fibery you have hierarchy as well and we want to design it with grouping as well, so essentially we may let people create lists like Product - Feature State - Feature - Task Assignment - Task It is relatively hard to design a simple enough setup for this, so we are thinking about less complex things, like just add one group on top level…
