In Brave and Safari, Cmd + L
already has a built in shortcut to “Open Location”. I’ve tried to disable this in the OS but haven’t had much luck. Because there is no way in the UI to link entity, only to create new entity. We have a pretty big workflow problem
just to add, the timing of this is unfortunate as we’re a relatively large startup team assessing alternatives to notion and this is a blocker for adoption
Cmd + E creates a new entity. Maybe you mean something else?
However, indeed Cmd + L does not work in Safari for Highlight creation, we will see what we can do here…
For references just type # and then you will be able to insert entities into text
Correct, I do not want to create a new entity (I already have it created and linked) but I need to link additional entities.
When I use “#” I am not able to highlight text for the linking. It only appends to the end of the sentence. Is there another way to do this in the interface.
I appreciate the speedy response
I’m also open to a temporary workaround such as dispatching an event from the devtools console. I tried to remap the shortcut in safari and brave to bypass the location shortcut but hit a dead end there. Not sure if I did it incorrectly
It is not possible to select a text and create a reference to another entity. We’ve removed this ability to implement Highlights functionality. The only way is to just add a usual link to Fibery entity
