Automated Color Coding for Entities on Whiteboards

Hi Fibery Team! Fibery is great for working with Entities on whiteboards, but there is one gap I’ve noticed: **Whiteboards lack automated color coding.
**
In different other views, we can set up rules to color cards automatically based on a field (e.g., Status, Priority, or a custom Select field).

However, on a Whiteboard, if we pull in many entities, we have to color-code them manually one by one to make the canvas readable. If the status of an entity changes, the color on the Whiteboard stays the same, which leads to outdated and confusing visualizations.

The Proposal: Bring the standard “Colors” menu to the Whiteboard view for Entities.

  • Allow users to set rules: “If Status is Done, color the card Green.”

  • The color should update dynamically on the Whiteboard when the underlying data changes.

  • This should apply specifically to Entities/Cards placed on the canvas.

Why this is important:

  1. Consistency: It aligns the Whiteboard experience with all other Fibery views.

  2. Efficiency: Manual coloring is a huge bottleneck for teams building large flowcharts, roadmaps, or brainstorm maps.

  3. Visual Clarity: Teams often use Whiteboards for high-level overviews. Having “live” colors based on actual data (like project health or task status) makes the Whiteboard a much more powerful reporting tool.

    Thank you! :slightly_smiling_face:
