This is a small improvement idea. Currently, if you select multiple items, the selection border grows to encompass the items on the furthest perimeter. But there is no way to distinguish which items are selected within that border.
In this screenshot, there is no way to visually tell if box 2 is selected or not. The only way to test it is to change something, which is a disruptive check.
