When there’s lots of data, it’s easy to get lost, especially when you start scrolling to the right. It would be nice to have if you could highlight the complete currently selected record, not just the first field.
The point of highlighting a single cell is to indicate that this is the cell that is being edited.
Highlighting the whole row would defeat this purpose.
If you want to highlight a row, select the checkbox for the entity.
Note also, that you may want to pin a column, so that when you scroll right, the Name (or whatever) is always visible.
