Inside my database named “Projects DB”, let’s say I have an entry named “Test”. If I right click on it to try to delete it, the label on the pop-up menu says “Delete Projects DB” – very misleading and confusing.
And if I click on it, in the subsequent confirmation dialogue, it’s STILL asking me if I really want to delete “Projects DB” – when in reality it’s only deleting an entry.
Edit: Typo
I believe the idea with naming databases is that they are named simply with its type, like “Projects”, and Fibery actually dynamically makes it singular or plural depending on the context. As it says in the user guide:
"Name a Database
You can give your Database any name you like, but it is worth noting that when creating relations etc. Fibery will attempt to intelligently name the fields, based on the plural or singular version of the database name. This process assumes that a Database has is named using an English word, so you might get weird defaults if you name Databases with words from other languages."
So then when deleting an entity, it would ask to confirm before deleting the “project”.
I believe you might’ve misunderstood my original post (or may be the way I worded it was confusing); I wasn’t referring to any issues with the name of a database. It’s how the pop-up window display what is being deleted. Let me illustrate with an example below, may be it’ll be clearer:
Here I have created a database named “DEMO”, with a dummy entry “A stunning sample entity”. Let’s say I want to delete the ENTRY “A stunning sample entity” – so I right click on the row / on the entry itself, and you see how at the bottom of the pop-up menu, it says “Delete DEMO”, as if the function is to delete this DATABASE called “DEMO”?
And then if I click on “Delete DEMO”, in the subsequent confirmation, it’s still referring to the same DEMO, instead of the entry itself.
(Seems like I can’t attached another screenshot here as a new user, so basically the confirmation is asking “Really Delete DEMO”?)
So imagine if I have 50 entries and I’d like to delete one of them – there’s no way of knowing if I had right-click on the correct entry to delete. The menu label makes it look like this action itself is for deleting the entire database.
