Poll in content area

Hey all (most likely Chris),

One of the features I am missing is a polling option. Some way to create a simple poll on a content area, and allow people to vote on it.
I know that we could create a polls database with poll-options. But that feels very overkill, all that we need is a simple list with items (like a bulleted list), but then allow people to click in front to add or remove their vote (either showing their icons, or just a number).

Cheers

What does ‘content area’ mean here? Is it a type (database)?

Hi,

Preferably as in the content area on any entity.

I can imagine that theres no default support in markdown for this, so the second best option would be something like how Whiteboards are shown, as an attached item, but with its own special view.

Yes I just tried to do this now.

For me the Content area = Rich text field so accessed from the backslash / to insert a new block type

Use case

  • Vote for product feature option (exactly what I was doing when I thought about this)
  • Who can attend a meeting
  • Have you read this and understood?

Its a lightweight way to collect data without setting up full Project/Task db which might only be single use. And also is in context of the entity itself with surrounding words and images for the questions.

On a whiteboard its very handy e.g. vote on product mock ups, ideas etc.

No doubt someone will want to launch automations, reminders etc from the results data  Maybe can link results to a special table db which is automatically linked to the entity which has the poll. :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Similar to how you can in Whatsapp it’s very easy (screenshots)
