Image from URL column

I’d like to be able to display an image based off of a URL.

Like so:

This is a great suggestion. I think Fibery is actually surprisingly lacking in these types of multimedia fields. You can add images and some videos to documents and rich text fields but you can’t add multimedia in a structured way and have a way of displaying them (e.g. image columns or gallery views).

lol, I went to make this feature request and saw I’ve already made it!

I still want to see a dedicated image column. Be able to drag an image into a table cell. View images from an URL. Show images in the various views.

Hi Fibery Team!

I’d like to suggest an improvement:

Allow URL fields to optionally render a preview of the linked media (image/video).

This could be very useful in several scenarios:

  1. Working more easily with external storage (Google Drive, CDN, public links, etc.)

  2. Reusing assets via links (links to files already stored in Fibery)

  3. Avoiding duplication of files across databases

In particular, this would help with a current limitation where file fields cannot be reused via relations and lookup in different bases.
Using URL fields with media preview could serve as a lightweight workaround for sharing files across related databases without duplicating them.

If preview is not available, the field could simply fall back to a normal clickable link.

This feels like an improvement that could solve a very practical problem :slightly_smiling_face: .

Yes, we can merge it in one :+1: - here I just described a little more about what it might be useful for inside Fibery :slightly_smiling_face:
Thank you!
