Hello,

Is there a design reason for the difference in functionality between a related entity drop-down and a multi-select list?

A relation list lets you select multiple options without collapsing the related entity drop-down, but a multi-select requires you to click again every time you want to choose another option.

For my use case I like the “select as many as you want” approach and then click away to the next field, especially within forms. I was wondering though if this was intentional or if there is an option to request a change to it.

i’d like to bump this post.

In the forms, multi select is always a dropdown that instantly closes after an option is selected, however in many situations a list with checkmark options would be nicer.

Se here a google form, which has a nicer interface if you want to use a multi-select
