I have found a few posts on this forum, and also some detailed roadmaps, on how to improve the ability to filter in task table view. From quick filters, to pinning filters, including the ability to have a drop-down for pinned filters instead of pinning specific filter categories.
However, one idea that I could not find being discussed is this. What about filtering by Ctrl + clicking on a value from a column? For example, suppose you are on table view. Column “State” has options “Open”, “In Progress” and “Done”. Then if you hold Ctrl and click on any of those values, in any of the task entries, this automatically filters and shows only entries with clicked value. We already have the ability of Alt + clicking on them to see a panel with a summary about the column value.
Of course, this does not allow complex filtering, but I bet this would be a huge time saver and quality of life improvement from when we only want to have a quick peek at some aspect of the database.
