Apparently Checkbox fields are always given a Default Value of False. It would be useful to be able to specify True/False in the Type definition.
I know I can write a Rule for “Entity Created” to set the default value. But I am concerned that this may not work predictably with duplicating entities.
This request sort of slipped by when it was posted. I think it is an important addition and was wondering if there was any plan to address this?
As @Matt_Blais said, you can use automations for this but I feel that is a bit too ‘hacky’.
Is there an update on this request? Seems like a trivial thing but I think it is actually a pretty useful setting at the fundamental field level.

Now you can set default values for basic fields
