Unless I’m missing something, it seems that you cannot convert text into a checklist from the formatting toolbar. This should be possible, you can easily convert a line to a checklist by typing [ ] at the beginning of it, so clearly the actual functionality is there. But it’s not available from the selected-text formatting toolbar. This makes it fairly unintuitive for more GUI/mouse-oriented people like the majority old folks in my real estate biz. 
Yeah, I saw that while checking to see if this issue had already been reported. In hindsight maybe I should have just reported it in a reply there. Then again the issues in that topic still exist as far as I know, from some 6 months ago. 
So maybe reporting in a new topic will get a little more 
… I’m hopeful that the recent bug fixing efforts might touch these issues soon.
