Bi-directional integrations/sync

I’d like to revive this thread, because I’m currently evaluating Fibery to function as the “operating system” for our organization, and I’m feeeling a bit lost in how to integrate it with our existing processes and systems.

Here’s what I’m seeing:

  • In general, from my testing, if you sync data using an integration, you can’t create, update, or delete it through Fibery.
  • In February 2023, limited two-way syncing was released (in beta) for the Jira integration. This was 3 years ago, and AFAIK, two-way syncing is still not available for any other integrations (built-in or custom).
  • This thread hasn’t had any activity since 2024.
  • I can’t find any other substantial updates on.

All in all, for syncing data with an external system, integrations seem like a dead end, compared to rolling our own solution with API calls + webhooks. This is a shame, because the integrations UI & API seem great for bringing data into Fibery, with a nice UI for selecting what to sync, webhooks for real-time syncing, support for actions, and so on. But if you can’t edit that data in Fibery… well, you still need other tools to do so.

To illustrate a concrete usecase: I think we have a common CRM:ish case of users visiting and signing up on our website. We then have a relatively involved sales process with a lot of touchpoints and processes to qualify, prioritize, and hopefully convert these leads. Our view is that this is a core business process, so while Fibery isn’t specifically geared towards CRM functionality, managing this in a single system would be useful for us.
