Allow whiteboards to be views in relations just like lists, tables & boards

I wish there was a quick and easy way to visually map existing relational hierarchies automatically instead of having to create separate whiteboards and using the multi entity insert with tons and tons of filters.

I can see it working exactly like lists and tables do, with a “levels” setting that would determine how the entities would be visually linked to each other.

It would also be cool if cards on the canvas would be automatically positioned on “sort” options!

Here’s an example of the visual map I’d like to create without having to spend 30 minutes adding and repositioning everything on the canvas each time.

Oh wow, that’s an awesome idea

+1!

So much untapped potential in whiteboards if they would be seen more as views. Including in Smart Folder views as well. And even better if there would be “Smart Sections” in whiteboard where you could set it to a database and filter just like any other view.

In general, I feel like the whiteboard view isn’t great for brainstorming which adding entities instead of text boxes/sticky notes.

Things like editing the name, showing fields which are unset, in order to set them (without opening the entity in side)

It’s amazing for visualisation of data, brainstorming unstructured data, and converting to structured. But not there yet for brainstorming structured data.

Edit: I thought about it a bit more and I take it back kinda.

Whiteboard is more like content (like a rich text field)
Then a new view could be introduced: graph view. You can embed a graph view inside a whiteboard, but they are functionally different things.
Note that in this case a whiteboard is a entity field, like rich text. Items can be referenced, but it’s unstructured. I can explain more of needed.
