This may be a great UX improvement, if you agree:
Challenge
The Panels behavior is currently behaving in a breadcrumbs manner, and therefore cannot be pinned or minimized. Its difficult to accomplish a custom side-by-side setup of entities.
Use Case
I think that a lot of people make increasing use of side-by-side browser windows, to accoplish simple tasks like keeping an entity or view in the left panel, and placing another entity in the right panel. The reason is that such ‘other entity’ may not be related, or too deeply nested away to easily place in the right panel.
Workaround
I currently use Arc browser to work with Fibery and the ‘Split View’ that Arc provides.
This works, but makes the UI again more complex, and is not easy for not seazoned users to start using. I myself am still learning how to work with Arc and Split View in combination with Fibery now for a week, and see the benefit but also the complexity of both overlapping interfaces.
Proposed solution:
Implement either one or both of the following:
- a ‘Pinned Panel’ feature
- an ‘Independent Panels’ Switch.
