Our business is about to purchase hardware for the entire team, but before we do I’ve been asked to find out which device works best.
Do you have any tablet recommendations (make, model, screen size)?

Not related, but you got a human friendly name? ![]()
It depends on what role each person plays on the team.
If the user is submitting forms with mostly text values, you can get away with 4gb of ram.
Loading table views with thousands of records, triggering automations, and or rendering a lot of text in rich-text fields? Then I recommend more RAM or a full on tablet PC.
I’ve run Fibery on lots of different hardware and size of API query as well as background processes prior to page load were what most impacted performance.
Personally, I prefer single panel for small screens (less than 13in) at which point resolution doesn’t matter.
I thought automations were server-side and didn’t require RAM to process?
It needs to be as simple as possible to navigate, update records, and move cards around a Kanban. Otherwise, our staff will not use the app. Period.
Also is there any noticeable difference between Chromium and Safari, or does Fibery achieve parity?
For me tablet use is quite user dependent. We have several tablet users in our team and some prefer the small size (iPad mini size), while others prefer the regular size. In my experience it is well appreciated to either offer two versions or go and explore the ideal size based on the most common use case( where is it uses, do employees walk around a lot, how often do they use it)
I would say that 4gb tablets are no longer useful in the current market. 6 ( or pref 8)GB ram should be the norm. Not because it doesnt work at all, but because the experience (especially for a daily driver) is door much smoother that your employees will loose productivity with less.
Not sure how good it is, but the OnePlus lite is a clear example, £200, and its already equipped with 8gb of ram.
It’s useful for handling the network activity when sending and receiving data. Even though the scripts run on the server, your device still needs to process the data. Bowsers eat up a lot of RAM. I don’t use Safari so can’t speak to that but I recommend Zen or Brave browsers as they reduce background telemetry.
Without a true indication of scale (volume of records) it’s hard to make a specific recommendation.
Your needs seem light. You can future proof your investment by getting any 8gb 7in+ tablet. If your boards have images or if entities have buttons, you’ll be safe.
