Views pager: max items to display in embedded view

Is a views pager on the roadmap?
And max items to display in one views ‘page’?

This will improve page load performance and make the information less overwhelming with large lists.
Filtering by recently updated often does not do the trick, especially when lot of content is created in a short timeframe. Also, the time filter is not granual to the minute.

It’s not on the short-term roadmap, but it is something that has been requested before in other channels.
(and in fact, defining a limit to the number of entities to show is useful for many views, even those that are not specifically embedded)
