We use a form for our users to submit feedback. All users have Submitter access to the Feedback database, and the “Created by” field gives Commenter access. However, when using the below form, users are told they can’t create the feedback because they are not allowed to edit the “Feedback Type” field.
Changing the “Created by” field to automatically give Editor access resolves this issue. However, we only want the support provider to have Editor access.
I’m marking this as a bug because it seems like Submitter access should be appropriate for this.
Is Feedback Type a database, or a select field, or … ?
It is a multi-select field, and everyone has access to add options to it. Though I also tried it with the “allow anyone to add new options” setting switched off.
Just to confirm:
A user (who is a member with Submitter access to the Feedback db) cannot create a Feedback entity via (internal) form view if the db (and form) has a select field.
I could not reproduce this (even with no access granted via Created By). Perhaps you want to share some screenshots (via chat) and we can troubleshoot the problem.
That’s correct. This is using the internal form view. I’ll DM you some screenshots.
