Submitter Access? Can't find in the platform

Need help to understand how to “use/find/tutorial” in accessing the “Submitter” access as defined from the followings but no actual steps on how to.

Submitter is an access level for databases, which allows users to (only) create new entities.
You’ll find it as an option when granting access to a user/group for a specific database (the Access line when expanding a database in the sidebar).

Hi @Chr1sG , we just recently saw the submitter. and will the new update info from the post for this November. Our last question really now is that, for a user to be able to have Space/db access as “Submitter” we notice that they should be a User Role=“Member”. Hence, they should be a paid user for them to edit what they submitted or assigned task to.

We have like third-party devs who only need to comment and view, but also, be able to update like workflow status on their ticket. They are not a normal team members are they are only engaged in a hour-basis. Is there a workaround for them to be able to at least edit what is assigned to them or update as a User Role “Observer”? Or we are at a bind to procure a license for that one person?

There is no Submitter access for Spaces, but yes, submitters need to be paid members. However, you don’t need to be a submitter to make edits. You should be a submitter if you need to create new entities.

If the devs only need to edit items assigned to them, e.g. update the status, then this is something they can do as a Guest - updating is possible for Guests - and can thus be free.
If the third-party devs need to be able to create new entities, then they need a paid licence.

I suggest reading the user guide on how each user role works and what they can do:

FYI nothing we changed recently (renaming levels and deprecating contributor) had any bearing on the above.
The Guest user role has always been free, allows users to make edits, but not create.

Interesting.. Nowhere can I find a Guest in permission settings.

How do you create a Guest especially with entity editing permissions??

Please check the Guests (External Users) section in the User Management guide

Gotcha. So it’s really per entity work like to approve something… or some kind of one-off small assignments or 1-task projects
