Giving User Groups Database Access

Currently I can assign groups space access, but if users need submitter access to a specific database I need to add each user individually. This makes it impossible for other users (managers) to be able to set the roles for their own employees which automatically updates the database access they have.

I work for a holding company and want to set up Fibery to use across the subsidiaries (I have a company database with one record for each subsidiary) as a project management software so that each company can have their own managers and PMs.

  • When I set someone as a Manager of the company, I want them to have full access to all records related to the company and ability to submit new related records.
  • When I set someone as a PM, I want them to have submission access to the Projects, Sprints, and Tasks database and only access to the projects they’ve created or have been assigned to.
  • When I set someone as a user, they should only be able to create and edit their own tasks or tasks they’ve been assigned to but be able to see and comment on all tasks for projects they’ve been assigned to.
Managers should be able to set PMs and Users for the company.

I’m not sure what needs to change about Fibery to support this.

We’ll soon be working on sharing entities with groups, and sharing databases with groups is likely to follow shortly after.

+1 for this, big need for us as well
