One of the best reasons to use a select field instead of plain text is that you can use background colors on the options. It’s a great visual cue.
However, when we create a board view the colors are ignored and worse, a generic blue will show as an icon unless we add an emoji to the select option (see comparison in 1st and second screenshots).
I’d really like to see the color choice for a select field reflected in the representation of a group. Especially on board views but also in grouped lists. The lack of continuity in the colors across views reduces the effectiveness of the feature and the groups themselves. I like the “button” like styling of competitors like Notion and ClickUp
