I don’t know if this has been decided or not, but I personally use board view → size:line a lot in replacement of list view when I don’t need more than one level of hierarchy.
See here the advantages:
Emoji field isn’t nice to use in list view as it shows it twice:
Board:
Can’t turn off the colored square that indicates database. On board view you can turn it on or off and indicate it’s display type.
If anything, bringing list view’s hierarchy INTO board view in order to replace the list view would be much better than removing the “size: line” in board view. List view’s line is less good than board view’s line. And grouping is also much nicer in board view than list view. And it allows you to group in two different axis. So many advantages.
I concur with @RonMakesSystems. The board needs more information dense options. I think we’re never using the big cards.
To be fair, I barely use Line either, but that’s because it’s not very usable. I would, however want an item that’s compact, maybe 1–2 lines max allowing me to have icons in there.
The same as being able to see the Assignee as a profile image, I wanna see single-selects (like priority or size) and workflow states as icon only and then 1–2 lines of text.
The board is wasting more space with the permanent “add column”, the non-sticky row labels and the non-compact headers.
I’d love to have the “line” option with a choice of how many lines and, worst case, concatenation the string with a formula and emoji.
