I’m trying to work out if there is a way to automatically open the created entity after submitting a form, or failing this, add a link to the entity in the form response message?
Not with a native form that I’m aware of, however it is definitely possible to do this using custom apps. If you have access to the custom apps, you can add a custom App to the space and describe what you want—e.g. “build a form for [DB] that creates an entity and then opens/redirects to it after submission.”
