More information while linking an entity

Hello,

I didn’t find a topic about this subject but feel free to link it if there’s one and sorry if it’s a duplicate.

I would like to suggest a feature related to the drop down list that appear when we want to link an entity to another one.

Let say that I have a Project and a Task database. When I want to link a task to his parent project, if I have more than 1 project that have the same name, I need to have additional information so I know that I’m linking the task to the right parent entity.

For example, let’s say that I have 4 products that are 4 projects (Product A, Product B, Product C, Product D). This 4 projects are linked to 1 sub-project (1 topic) that are named the same manner. When I want to link my task to the parent project, I will not be able to identify the right one :

So to help on this, I would like to show the parent project name on this list. Perhaps something like :

I know that it is possible to add a filter but the action of linking an entity to his parent entity should be visually easier.

Thanks for the consideration and suggestions if you have a better manner to manage/classify the projects and sub-projects.

a (secret) workaround is to type in the project its public id, it will automatically select the right project. But this is of course not a real solution, and I totally agree that the select dropdown needs to display more fields.

Thanks for the trick but yes, not the easiest solution.
