Hello everyone! How to set Monday as the first day of the week on the Calendar view? We have now Sunday and it’s not how we want to see it. Thanks!
Personal preferences include Regional formats as well, please follow the guide: Fibery
Thanks @itsu! Is that possible to set Monday as a default for the company? Otherwise we need to ask every team member to do it.
These settings are considered personal and default to the user’s locale. For example, a user in the USA will see Sunday as the start of the week, while someone in Greece will see Monday, with the option to override based on personal preference.
Currently there is no way to set a default at the workspace level.
These settings only affect the visual presentation to make it more familiar and convenient for users. I’m curious, why would you want to enforce this at the workspace level?
The reason is very simple. In our workspace by default Sunday is the first day of the week, but we all work in the EU. It means we need to guide every single employee to change the setting to match the standard Monday-first. Also, new employees need to do the same. Instead of saving time with Fibery, we need to spend more as we use calendar views very often.
Not to derail, but I think this is a common theme in Fibery and something to fixed or changed. I think there are too many personal setting that should be either workspace settings. Or at the very least should be able to have workspace defaults with the ability to lock, and view the configuration of all the users. Notifications, watching settings, weekends, experimental labs, time format, and (a bit different but) seeing who has what entities in their favourites.
I don’t think there is such a thing as the workspace default for this setting.
Each user gets the start of the week that is appropriate according to their browser locale (which they can then change in their personal preferences).
Do you mean on a conceptual level this isn’t a thing (so it shouldn’t be a feature)? Or on a feature level that it isn’t possible right now?
I mean that currently I don’t think it is true that “In our workspace by default Sunday is the first day of the week”. Each new user logging on will get a default starting day of the week that is determined by their browser locale.
I’m not saying that there aren’t cases where it is useful for and admin to be able to choose workspace-wide options.
Ah gotcha! Makes sense thanks for the clarification!
Curious then why @Eugene_Vabishchevich is getting defaults that aren’t right. Maybe you’re using a VPN?
Thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s related to the browser locale (or it doesn’t work like you mentioned). I have EU (Cyprus) locale and have had Sunday as the first day of the week. All of our employees are also in Europe and have the same.
I wonder what language settings you have. My dev colleague tells me that if the language is set to USA English, then this can make browsers assume a Sunday start to the week.
