The built-in “Modification Date” field does not appear to track changes to Rich Text fields in the entity.
Is this intentional? Because it seems counter-intuitive. 
Example: I want to sort a list of entities by Modification Date descending so I can review the entities by most-recently-modified – and I am hard-pressed to imagine a case where I would not want this to include changes made to Rich Text fields like Description.

A workaround I’ve done is an automation rule that updates some date field when the rich text field is modified. Then you can sort by that date field.
This would look like this:

I’d like to bump this topic, especially with the new Automation limitations. We use the described automation for several databases, but we will rapidly increase our automation count if we were to continue using this in the future.
