Log Time - Workaround with Tasks

Hey guys,

So after using Asana, Trello, tried ClickUp … I finally found Fibery and … fell in love  I am still learning. I am fine-tuning my spaces every day and see the benefits of every action very rapidly which wasn’t the case before with other system.

So now after giving many thoughts, I am stuck on this one; I am using the template for the Time Logs. At first, I was not charmed by the way it works…precisely the fact that I cant log my time directly into the task. But I get it. A task can have multiple time logs. So I got used using the Time Logs form but now since I use the Tasks Templates database and have ALWAYS the SAME tasks for every website project… when I want to log my time, I have like a billion tasks with the same name because we can’t have conditional field in the form (as far as I know)

Does anybody know a workaround for that?

The simplest solution might be to change your Task’s “Name” to Formula field that includes the related Project’s name plus a new “Task Name” field that holds the actual task name.

Similarly, a Time Logs entry could use a Formula for the entity name, which might include e.g. the entity’s Creation date+time, etc., or some other distinguishing info.

That is what I was doing manually for now! I did not know that I could change the field to a formula field ! That’s awesome!

Although, I still think that a conditional field in Forms would be the best solution but its a great workaround and I already applied it in 2 secondes  Man I love Fibery !! haha

Thanks Matt
