We’ve built a quick prototype to show how it will work

And I suppose functions like sharing a space, adding integrations, and setting the space name/icon/color would go into the space’s … menu? Ok, I think I’m following now and see the value in this. I do really like being able to jump between databases of different spaces quickly. Ooh! Perhaps we can even have databases open in panels!? It would be nice to compare the fields or rules between two different databases.

We did not think about that  Maybe it is doable, but not sure so far.

Yes, but we also think that we may add 1-2 more important links on top of databases, but not sure so far

Thanks for making this so quickly!
I think indeed this can work. One thing comes to mind:
If I am creator in one space, and not in another, it will only show the databases where I am creator. (And if I am a creator in just one, it will still show the toggle?) This looks like a global toggle, even though being a creator is not a global attribute.

Like I said, there isn’t that much at the moment that warrants a “creator mode” just that as more features grow, (already looking at “set entity view by filter” for example) it might make sense. I love the power a creator has to make things exactly as needed. I don’t want that this power will be limited by the “clean ui” needed for editors. Do you see where I’m coming from? And shared it now because I see there’s a lot of work/changes going on with “creator mode” and how it’s shown. (but also I see that it’s not too hard to implement by the fact that you whipped this demo up really quickly). I personally really like the new database folders instead of the old set up. And the relation views with the ability to jump across spaces, wow! what a time saver!!!

Indeed I don’t think it’s a feature needed right now though, just pls don’t limit creator functionality for clean editor ui. The demo you shared indeed works!

Yes, I like that too. It also makes more sense of what was arguably still confusing in going into a “Space config mode” that looked exactly like the regular sidebar, but was more limited in what you could see (it was focused on one Space which had theoretical benefit, but was ultimately not the best way to provide clarity it seems). So this basically takes the same approach but maintains the benefits of full workspace view and context. Thanks for the demo!

Makes much more sense and I can definitely see how this will make editing Spaces more fluid. Thank you!
