Drag-and-drop reordering in Database "Fields" settings

Hi! I have a suggestion for improving database management.

Currently, if a database has many fields, reordering them in a Table View is very tedious because you have to drag a column “little by little” across a very wide screen.

Proposal: Please add the ability to reorder fields directly in the “Fields” tab of the Space/Database settings. It would be much more convenient to move fields within a vertical, compact list rather than dragging them across a giant table. This would save a lot of time when organizing the structure of a complex database.

I’m aware that it’s currently possible to reorder fields via the little “Fields” menu. However, I’d like to suggest adding this same drag-and-drop functionality to the global “Fields” tab in the Space/Database settings, if it’s not too difficult to implement.

Are you talking about using the ordering of fields in the ‘Fields’ section of the sidebar:

to determine the order of fields in the database view:

?

Note: it was actually a deliberate choice to order the fields according to their type (primitive, relations, lookups, formulas) and then alphabetically within each type :person_shrugging:

I mean inside fiels menu (at the right here) - where you add new fields and change them.

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to show with my first image :+1:
