[DONE] Disable Documents (and maybe other view types)

I would like to re-address this need.

We use databases for wikis, however some of our users are… stubborn… and fail to remember that they should pressimage instead of image. It would be really handy if we can protect our users from themselves by disabling documents (and other entities such as whiteboards, views, and dashboards as well).

I can see that you might not want to disable it everywhere, as there is a use. However in our wiki tree based smart-folders, there is no place for little documents floating around.

We have this in plans in general

Disabling documents implemented in latest release

Is there a way to find all of the current Documents? so we can replace the ones that are in our workspace?

Unfortunately there is no single place where you can see them since Documents are Views and we don’t have catalogue of views…

We did notice that Search has an option for Document. Will that show all of the documents (for admins)?

No, search shows recent views and to find things you have to type some letters, so it is not a full list

There is a little misalignment in the release documentation and actual functionality.

In release docs it says you can disable docs, and they will be hidden. However if you toggle the option, then old documents are still visible.

We like this functionality, it just behaves different from what the release document says.

I think the documentation is referring to the “Document” button in menus used to create document views, and not referring to the document views themselves.

That is what the button in Fibery suggests as well. Its just a bit unclear in the release document
