Yes, that is what I referred to with
However, thats I find that not ‘very fast’ - a lot of clicks and still you need to scroll and search for the right rule.
This requires at least 10 user actions:
- Click the database badge in current entity view. (At this point, the current entity view context is ‘lost’, there is no way to go back other than the backbutton in the browser)
- Click ‘Expand Sidebar’ or hover the left window edge (which I have closed by default)
- The UI automatically scrolls down to the database (thank you ;-)). Still you need to sroll to the ‘Rules’ section
- Click to Expand the Rules section
- Scroll down and identify to the wanted Rule to edit.
- Click the Rule to edit
- Edit and save Rule
- The current entity view is not accessible, we are stuck in the rule configuration page. So we have to click the back button of the browser. two times (this is very bad UX). The first click gets us back to the database entity list view.
- The second click on the back button gets us to the original current entity view
- This sequence we repeat as many times as we need to edit the rule.
Alternative workaround, add step:
Step 1.1. Right-click the database badge in the current entity view.
Step 1.2 Select ‘Open in new browser tab’ (depending on your browser).
Drawbacks of the workaround:
- Separating over multiple browser tabs, when we have other pages open is very confusing, people have often many tabs open.
- When working with multiple versions of a rule, or multiple rules, this becomes problematic, too much dependency on the browser features (like browser tabs groups).
Suggested solutions:
- Quick solution: Allow one-click access to ‘pinned rules’ in the entity view.
- Recommended solution: Implement a more robust Automations and (AI) Workflows workspace where users can pin and organize rules they are working on.
