I know I could add a new formula field to my Type just for a particular color coding, but if it is relevant only to a single Table view, it seems more appropriate to define the formula in the Table’s color coding section, and not clutter up the Type.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any votes left (don’t know how you can get more than 10) but this is definitely something worthy of consideration. I also agree that just adding new formula fields for visual formatting is poor design, even if we eventually get the ability to hide some of these “helper” fields (i.e. Individual Layouts for a node, hide fields etc

You get more votes by increasing your “Trust Level”, which is a Discourse (forum platform) system that rewards you with higher levels for interacting on the forum, e.g. liking posts, replying, receiving likes and replies, etc.
